Class of 2022
Why UCI?
I remember during my interview day, the resounding message was that this program is truly committed to reaching the underserved communities of Orange Country. I also found UCI’s Integrative Medicine program unique in that there were ample opportunities to gain hands on experience to integrative techniques such as OMT, acupuncture, and cooking classes. A strong inpatient experience, Suboxone training, and lots of opportunities to improve my Spanish were also important to me, and my training thus far at UCI has not disappointed!
Medical Interests:
I love all of it, but if I had to choose, women's health and addiction medicine are my two favs.
Hobbies:
Pre-COVID, I really enjoyed rock climbing and playing basketball on Sundays with my co-residents. Nowadays I stick to mostly running and biking to the beach with my finance whenever we can get the same day off. Most recently, thanks to my co-resident and expert surf coach, Vincente, I can stand for more than a few seconds on a surf board!
Fun Facts:
I ran track & cross-country in college, I have a fluffy cat named Honey Bee, and I have recently become obsessed with propagating plants and filling my home with pothos and monsteras.
Future Plans:
I would like to practice in a rural setting where I can be a one-stop-shop doctor and practice full spectrum family medicine, doing a combination of outpatient and inpatient medicine.
